Magic Kingdom "Walk Around The World" Bricks Will Be Removed

In order to make way for bag screening stations, security, loading and unloading tram stations and more, Disney had decided to begin removing the walk around the world bricks from the walkways to reconfigure them. The bricks were scheduled for removal back in 2011 so they have been almost 8 years overdue for removal. And unfortunately, the bricks were never designed to be removed individually so guests will not be able to have them.

Guests who did sponsor a brick may receive a commemorative one from now until August 31, 2019, or while supplies last.  If you want a souvenir version here's how to grab it:

IN PERSON

  • Go to City Hall or Guest Relations at the Magic Kingdom and verify the name and hometown of the guest who sponsored it. Once it is verified, you will get a voucher that will expire on August 31st. You can get your souvenir version from Tomorrowland Light and Power Co. or Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs which will allow you to get a 6' commemorative brick for the special price of $10 plus tax.
VIRTUAL CONTACT
  • Email guest.services@disneyworld.com or call 407-828-2701 and verify the name and hometown of the guest who sponsored the brick. Once verified, you will be given a special code to use on shopdisney.com to buy a commemorative 6' brick starting this spring. The code is one-time use and expires on August 31, 2019. It cannot be used to redeem in person and only valid on shopdisney.com
For those that never participated in the program, you can still buy a brick for $29.99 at Tomorrowland Light and Power Co or Marketplace Co-Op. They will be available on Shopdisney.com later this spring for those who won't be visiting the parks anytime soon.
