Fear Factor: Im Going to Halloween Horror Nights!

In a last second decision, I decided to attend my first Halloween Horror Nights in exactly one month!

For those who aren't familiar, Halloween Horror Nights is an event at the Universal Studios Orlando, Hollywood, Singapore and Japan parks. It's a hard ticketed event that isn't suitable for younger ages unlike the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party down the road at Magic Kingdom.

The event features houses that are specifically themed to a horror film or an original creation such as The Purge, Halloween, The Walking Dead and the most recent addition Stranger Things. They feature scare zones where guests can walk through with the intention of being scared by actors. There was one point in 2012 where the actors were not limited to these zones but this has since been reversed. Some actors are dressed as regular guests who are captured, which was done in The Purge scare zone. I added a video by one of my favorite youtubers about the history of the event if you want to learn more.

Last week, HHN revealed that one of the brand new houses would be based on Jordan Peele's Smash hit, "Us."

I absolutely loved this film and it sparked the need to finally attend this event. My main reasons for not attending in the past wasn't that I didn't want to. It was simply bad timing with work and other personal things. But thanks to Southwest points and time I had already taken off from work to rest and unwind for my birthday, I am finally able to go! Fun Fact: I am kind of a big scaredy cat so i'm grateful to be attending the event with experienced friends.
